Campsite Information
Situated on the E134 - Morgedal Camping is an ideal resting point on your journey east or west.
Morgedal camping is situated on the shores of lake Morgedal in the heart of a valley rich in history and culture. Here you can get away from the masses and soak up the atmosphere of a valley undisturbed by tourism and overdevelopment. The camping ground has large, open areas of grass lawn that sweep right to the waters edge. Here in Morgedal camping you won't find a "campervan city" but a natural park like setting dominated by open spaces and fresh air.
The lake and sandy beach provide great swimming, fishing, paddling and rowing trips. The lake is full of fish and you can catch trout and perch with a rod or secure yourself a serious meal by setting a net.
This valley has a rich plant and animal life and sightings of beaver and elk are common at dusk. With so much beautiful nature right on your doorstep, this is a great spot for walking and mountain biking trips. One of the classic trips here is the walk up to Øverbø, the birthplace of Sondre Norheim from where you get wonderful views of the valley and mountains beyond.
Once a field of hay on the Bjaaland farm, the family have operated the camping ground since 1968 and enjoy meeting all the returning guests right from those early days.
There is ample space for parking. Caravans, camper vans and tents are welcome. The site is grassy, level and spacious. You are free to select your own location, there are no designated areas.
